At present the only 4G modems capable of providing full speed access to our network are the Huawei B315 (our current model) or the previous Huawei B593. If you don’t have a compatible modem, check out our Contract Planswhich include a new modem that’s yours to keep.

Are all models of the compatible modems certain to work with the DiscoverNET SIMs on the SIM-only plans?

Unfortunately due to the way the network is locked to a range of IMEI numbers that were issued to the compatible modems, we can’t be certain that every modem will work. If it was originally bought in New Zealand and isn’t locked by the original supplier (usually Spark lock theirs), there’s a decent likelihood. But if it doesn’t, we’ve got some options to get you up and running.

If you want advice on your specific unit, send us a picture of the label on the base and we’ll be able to advise.

Don’t worry. If your modem turns out to be incompatible and you aren’t able to connect to our service we’ll give you the choice of upgrading to one of our plans that include a brand new modem, or you can cancel the plan without penalty.

How can I get more data for the Travel Pack?

We don’t sell additional data with the travel pack, but you can extend your hire for another week, which give you an extra 50GB of data. If you know you’re going to want more data, you can book additional time in advance.

How do I return the Travel Pack to DiscoverNET?

We include a courier bag and instructions in the pack. Just put all the equipment back in the box you received it in, and call the number on the instruction sheet to have it collected. Our courier will not pick up from rural addresses so you’ll need to be in one of the larger towns or city.

Upgrades to 4G cell sites may affect some users

Vodafone are currently working on 4G upgrades to some of their cell towers to provide improved coverage and speed. The work is scheduled between 10/7/17 and 17/7/17.

Users in the following areas may be intermittently affected.

Franklin District
